Report: Jerome Simpson faces three-game ban

Cincinnati Bengals free agent wide receiver Jerome Simpson will be suspended for three games under the league's substance abuse policy, according to an ESPN report.

Simpson has visited the Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Rams.

He was sentenced in early April to 15 days in jail and three years' probation after he pled guilty to a felony drug charge in Kentucky. He was originally indicted on a felony charge of drug trafficking after about two pounds of marijuana arrived at his home last fall, but the charge was changed to a prohibited act relating to controlled substances through a plea agreement.

Simpson was also ordered to perform 200 hours of community service, undergo drug testing and pay a $7,500 fine plus court costs. He is an unrestricted free agent.
