Report: Jaguars cut Jones-Drew's fines in half

Maurice Jones-Drew reportedly negotiated to cut his $1.6 million in fines in after missing the first 38 days of training camp.

The agent for Jones-Drew, who was a camp holdout while pushing for a new contract, worked with the team to cut the fines the running back incurred to $800,000, according to CBSSports.com, which cited a league source.

The deal reportedly was brokered before Jones-Drew reported to camp last Sunday.

He was activated to the 53-man roster Saturday. He did not receive a new contract from the team, despite the holdout. He still has two years left on his current deal.
