Report: Howard tells owner he won't play for Van Gundy

Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard has told team owner Rich DeVos that he won't play for coach Stan Van Gundy anymore, according to a by WKMG in Orlando, though multiple league sources affiliated with the Magic and Howard have disputed the television report to ESPN.com's.

"It's a completely made-up, B.S. story," one of Howard's representatives told ESPN.com.

Howard remains out with a back injury, and Van Gundy has already said he's preparing for the center to miss the rest of the season and the playoffs.

The WKMG report said DeVos, 86, spoke to Howard from his suite at Amway Center during the Magic's 109-81 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on April 13, though ESPN.com cites two sources that disputed that assertion.
