Rangers 3B Beltre hits for cycle

Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre hit for the cycle for the second time in his career Friday against the visiting Minnesota Twins, MLB.com reported.

Beltre had four hits in the game, an 8-0 victory for the Rangers. He started with a triple in the first inning, followed by an RBI double in the second, a homer in the fifth and finished off the cycle with a single in the seventh.

Three of Beltre's hit came against starter Samuel Deduno. His fourth was against Kyle Waldrop.

Beltre hit for the cycle against the Rangers on Sept. 1, 2008, when he played for the Seattle Mariners. Three of those hits were against Matt Harrison, who was the Rangers' starter on Friday.

Five other Rangers have hit for the cycle: Oddibe McDowell (1985), Mark Teixeira (2004), Gary Matthews Jr. (2006), Ian Kinsler (2009) and Bengie Molina (2010).
