PHILADELPHIA -- Rookie right-hander Jonathan Pettibone improved to 3-0 and John Mayberry Jr. went 3-for-4 with three RBIs as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Cleveland Indians 6-2 Tuesday night.

Kevin Frandsen and Domonic Brown hit solo homers for the Phillies, who won their third straight.

Pettibone allowed four hits and two runs over 6 2/3 innings, striking out three and walking two. Pettibone, who also hit two batters, has pitched at least five innings in all five of his starts since his call-up in late April from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He has not allowed more than three runs in any outing.

Antonio Bastardo, Justin De Fratus and Jeremy Horst combined to pitch 1 1/3 scoreless innings, and Jonathan Papelbon worked the ninth.

Brown, who went 2-for-4, hit his seventh homer of the season leading off the sixth inning. That ended the night for Indians starter Scott Kazmir (2-2), who allowed four runs on six hits in five-plus innings. He struck out three and walked two.

Mayberry, who had a two-run double in the fourth inning, added an RBI single in the eighth off reliever Bryan Shaw. Freddy Galvis drove in a run later in the eighth inning with a single off Rich Hill.

Frandsen, who started at second base while Chase Utley was given a rest, lofted a 1-2 pitch from Kazmir just over the left field wall with one out in the bottom of the first for his second homer of the year, opening the scoring.

The Indians regained the lead on a two-run single by Michael Brantley in the top of the second.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Domonic Brown singled and Carlos Ruiz walked. John Mayberry Jr. then doubled to center to chase them both home and put the Phils ahead 3-2.

NOTES: On Sunday in Arizona, 1B Ryan Howard doubled home two runs in the 10th inning to give the Phillies a 4-2 victory. It was the 13th time in his career he collected a go-ahead RBI in extra innings, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The only active players with more go-ahead RBIs in extra innings are Seattle's Raul Ibanez (16) and Miami's Placido Polanco (15), both of whom are former Phillies. .... The Indians, who beat the Yankees 1-0 in the first game of a doubleheader Monday, began play Tuesday with a 10-3 record in one-run games. The 10 one-run victories were the most in the American league. ... Mayberry started in center field in place of Ben Revere, even though Revere was hitting .357 over his previous 11 games.
