Peterson, Gerhardt questionable vs. Eagles

The Minnesota Vikings listed running backs Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhardt as questionable for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday.

Peterson sprained his right foot last Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Earlier in the week, tests showed that he did not need surgery. However, the team decided to list him as questionable after he worked out Friday.

"He was able to plant. He was able to push off," coach Leslie Frazier said. "We'll see tomorrow if there's any soreness, but he looked far better than I anticipated."

The Vikings are more optimistic about the playing status of Gerhart, who is recovering from a strained hamstring against the Ravens.

Gerhardt had 89 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown against Baltimore.

Peterson said repeatedly this week that he would play Sunday.

"That's just not my mentality -- leaving these guys out to dry," he said Friday. "I love the game too much to sit out, just because. If I'm out, you're going to know that, 'Hey, he can't go.' That's going to be the case. But outside of that, I'm going to try to put my best foot forward to get out there and play every Sunday."

Peterson has rushed for 1,221 yards with 10 touchdowns in 13 games this season.
