Panthers DE Frank Alexander suspended for four games

National Football Post

Carolina Panthers backup defensive end Frank Alexander was suspended without pay for the first four games of the NFL season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

Alexander is eligible to return to play Sept. 29 following the Panthers' game against the Ravens.

A fourth-round draft pick out of Oklahoma in 2012, Alexander had 15 tackles and one sack last season in a dozen games and three starts.

He had 2.5 sacks as a rookie
