Ovechkin, Elliott, Lundqvist named 'Three Stars' for week

The NHL announced Monday that Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin, St. Louis Blues goaltender Brian Elliott and New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist were named the league's "Three Stars" for the week.

Ovechkin led the league with seven goals and tied with nine points in four games, including four power-play points (two goals).

He has an NHL-high 14 power-play goals and 21 power-play points for the season. He is also tied for the league lead with 25 goals.

Elliott went 3-0-0, had a 1.45 goals-against average and a .952 save percentage and recorded a shutout. He had a season-high 33 saves, plus another three in the shootout, in a 4-3 win at the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday.

He is 6-6-1 with a 3.14 goals-against average and .879 save percentage this season.

Lundqvist went 3-0-1 with a 1.22 goals-against average and a .962 save percentage. He recorded a season-high 48 saves a 4-1 victory at the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.

He is 17-13-3 this season and ranks second in the NHL with a .928 save percentage and sixth with a 2.07 goals-against average.
