Ohio State DB Murray leaving school

Ohio State defensive back Najee Murray was granted his request to leave the team, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Thursday night.

ElevenWarriors.com was first to report earlier this month that Murray was leaving the school, but coach Urban Meyer only said at the time that the sophomore was indefinitely suspended.

It was later confirmed that Murray asked to be released from his scholarship and the school complied.

Murray spent the first half of the season -- mainly on special teams -- before a knee injury ended his season in October. He had three tackles last year as a freshman.
