UConn Football has been busy handing out offers and hosting visitors across the spring, and is expecting a flurry of activity as the recent open period just started. Right now the Huskies have offered five running backs, and have another regional runner on the radar.

That would be Dylan McDuffie out of St. Francis High School in Buffalo, New York. The 6-foot, 200-pound running back target told Storrs Central that he is in regular touch with the Husky staff.

“I’m hearing a lot from UConn, mostly coaches Smith and Richardson,” McDuffie told StorrsCentral. “They just tell me how much they like me and what I can do to fit in on their team. They told me they are coming out to see me work out sometime soon during the spring.”

Last time McDuffie was up at UConn was back towards the end of February for an unofficial visit. He went with teammate Retsen Daley.

“It was a real good trip, I just got a chance to see the campus, facilities, and met with most of the staff too. My favorite part was just seeing the role of the RB in the offense. I just like the winning attitude everyone has there,” said McDuffie.

He got a chance to see UConn's new offense, describing it as "downhill and fast," which lines up with his running style, which he also describes as downhill. McDuffie also plays basketball and track at St. Francis.

As of right now he holds offers from Buffalo, Central Michigan, Holy Cross, Liberty, Robert Morris, and Western Michigan. The Huskies may join that group soon.

“An offer from UConn would me a lot to me. I could see myself thriving at UConn and overall I just get a real good vibe from all the coaches. The staff and myself spoke a little bit about an offer in the past and I think one is definitely coming soon,” McDuffie said.

McDuffie is currently planning on hoping to have a decision before the season, probably sometime in summer. In the meantime he’s planning on hitting up two camps so far. The Rivals camp in New Jersey and the Future Phenom camp in Brooklyn.
