Notre Dame QB Rees is day-to-day

Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees, who left Saturday's game against USC in the third quarter because of a neck injury, is expected to return to practice on Tuesday, coach Brian Kelly said Sunday.

Kelly still listed Rees' status as "day-to-day," so it's not certain that Rees will be available for Saturday's game against Air Force. But the fact that Kelly expects him to practice Tuesday is a positive sign.

Notre Dame did not score after Rees left Saturday's game, which the Irish won 14-10.

Andrew Hendrix replaced Rees and did not complete any of his four pass attempts. The Irish gained just 28 yards on 21 plays after Rees left the game.
