Blizzard’s multiplayer shooter Overwatch is getting a new Insurrection event, according to a trailer posted to YouTube by PlayStation France which has since been made private. A user-posted mirror is available here.

Based on the trailer, the event looks to be centered around the King’s Row map and will introduce a Horde mode complete with towers and waves of robotic enemies. According to the trailer, the event will run April 11 until May 1.

Insurrection will also introduce a number of new skins primarily based upon the appearance of various Overwatch heroes featured in the recent Uprising comic. Set in the lead-up to the King’s Row Uprising (which happened over seven years ago in Overwatch lore), the comic includes a young Tracer, Mercy, and Reinhardt, as well as Blackwatch versions of Genji and McCree.

Blizzard teased a new Overwatch reveal last week, and had hinted at an event in the King’s Row location.

King’s Row is an Assault map which leads into an Escort map. The attacking team must capture the point to escort an EMP device into a part of the city inhabited by omnics. It is located in London and the game map itself contains some references to the conflict between humans and omnics. Graffiti scrawled on walls, such as “Machines have no rights” and “No more omnics,” hint at the history of the location.

Not much else is known about the new mode at present. We will monitor for announcements and update this story as more information is revealed.
