NBA Roundup: Memphis, Cleveland waive three each; Magic keep Vucevic

The Memphis Grizzlies waived guard/forward Ronald Dupree, center Jerome Jordan and guard Ronald Murray, the team announced Saturday.

Dupree, a six-year veteran, averaged 3.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in 13.2 minutes in six preseason games. Jordan, a 7-footer, averaged 5.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.14 blocks in 12.6 minutes in seven preseason games. Murray, an eight-year pro, averaged 4.3 points and 1.8 assists in 11.8 minutes in four preseason appearances.

The Grizzlies roster is at 13 players.

---The Cleveland Cavaliers waived forward/center Micheal Eric, forward Kevin Jones and guard D'Aundray Brown to trim their roster to 15 for the start of the regular season.

Eric played in two preseason games with the Cavs, averaging 0.5 rebounds in 3.5 minutes per game. The 6-foot-11, 240-pound forward/center from Temple University played in five games with the Cavaliers in the 2012 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and averaged 4.0 points on .667 percent shooting and 3.8 rebounds in 12.6 minutes per game.

Jones, a 6-foot-8, 250-pound forward from West Virginia University, played in two preseason games with the Cavs, averaging 2.5 rebounds in 9.0 minutes per game.

Brown, signed on Oct. 25, played in 115 games (91 starts) at Cleveland State University, averaging 7.8 points on .487 percent shooting, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 28.4 minutes per game.

---The Orlando Magic exercised their third-year option on center Nikola Vucevic, putting the second-year player under contract through the 2013-14 season.

Vucevic, who was acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a four-team deal on Aug. 10, averaged 5.5 points and 4.8 points in 51 games for the 76ers during his rookie season.

The Magic also waived forward Justin Harper, forward Chris Johnson and guard-forward Quentin Richardson to get their roster to 15 players.

---Center Jamaal Magloire was waived by the Toronto Raptors, whose roster now stands at 15 four days before the season opener.

Magloire is a 12-year veteran who did not play during the preseason. He averaged 1.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 11.0 minutes in 34 games with the Raptors last season. He is the first Canadian-born player to play for the Raptors.

---The Philadelphia 76ers waived forward Devin Searcy, the team announced Saturday.

Searcy played internationally last season after not getting drafted. He appeared in two preseason games for the Sixers.

Philadelphia's roster is at 14 players.
