Morgan State 86, Coppin State 68

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Sophomore guard Blake Bozeman had 16 points, eight assists and six rebounds, leading Morgan State to an 86-68 victory over Coppin State on Wednesday at Hill Field House.

Bozeman led six players who scored in double figures for Morgan State (11-14, 7-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), which has won five of its last six games. Sophomore forward Shaquille Duncan came off the bench to post 14 points and 11 rebounds. Junior guard Andre Armstrong scored 24 points for Coppin State (6-23, 3-11), which has lost eight of nine.

Coppin State took a 38-31 lead when Taariq Cephas made a 3-pointer with 1:37 to play in the opening half, but the Bears battled back. They closed the half with a 10-3 run, leaving the Eagles clinging to a 38-36 lead at the break.

Coppin State went up 43-39 when Zach Burnham dunked with 18:31 to go in the second half, but the Bears mounted a 10-0 run to take a 49-43 lead with 16:01 to play. The Eagles cut the deficit to four with 11:16 remaining, but the Bears outscored them 17-7 over the next 5:16 to take a commanding 73-59 lead.
