Mavericks recall Azubuike from D-League

The Dallas Mavericks have recalled guard Kelenna Azubuike from the Texas Legends of the NBA Development League, filling the roster spot vacated by Lamar Odom.

Azubuike, 28, has played seven games for the legends, averaging 6.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in just under 13 minutes per contest. The former Kentucky star played 205 games for the Warriors in four seasons, averaging 10.6 points and four rebounds per game, before a knee injury early in the 2009-10 season jeopardized his career.

The Mavericks (31-26, fourth in Southwest Division) announced on Monday that they had parted ways with Odom, who was averaging a career-low 6.4 points per game on 35.2 percent shooting. Odom remains on the Mavericks' roster, but is classified as inactive.

Azubuike will be available on Tuesday night, when the Mavericks host the Kings (19-38, fifth in Pacific Division) at the American Airlines Center. Game time is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
