Marshawn Lynch goes Beast Mode on 60 Minutes

Marshawn Lynch may be retired, but he’s never far from our hearts and minds.

The former Seahawks running back is keeping himself busy away from the football field, riding camels and dunking on people, and he’s still one of the most famous faces on the planet. His highly quotable Super Bowl week press conferences have apparently made him a lasting pop culture figure that has captured our imagination and won’t let go.

Recently CBS’s news program 60 Minutes spent time with Lynch in Oakland, and he went vintage Beast Mode on their crew. It should probably come as no surprise, but Marshawn Lynch treats interviews in much the same way as he would tacklers.

Here is what he told them about his unique brand of football:

Lynch: “If you just run through somebody face, a lot of people ain’t gonna be able to take that over and over and over and over and over again. They’re just not gonna want that.”

CBS: “Think there’s a deeper metaphor there?”

Lynch: “Run through a (expletive) face.”

Magnificent.

The full thing will air next Tuesday on Showtime but you can watch a preview here:

Never change, Marshawn.

As for a possible comeback? Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was asked last week if Lynch has been in touch about returning to the team, and he answered no.
