Manny Gamburyan vs. Cole Miller Added to UFC on Fox Sports 1 Event in Boston

UFC Vet Manny Gamburyan Retires

The first UFC on Fox Sports 1 fight card is hitting the upper limits with its thirteenth bout. A featherweight bout between Manny Gamburyan and Cole Miller was the latest addition.

UFC official on Tuesday announced the new bout.

Gamburyan (12-7) has had a slow start to his UFC tenure since moving over from the WEC nearly three years ago. During that period, he’s only fought three times, primarily due to various injuries that have forced him out of fights.

He lost his first two fights in the Octagon, but finally scored a victory with a unanimous decision over Michihiro Omigawa last August at UFC on Fox 4.

Gamburyan was slated to return at last month’s UFC on FX 8, but was again forced out due to injury. He’ll instead head to the Octagon at the UFC on Fox Sports 1 #1 event in August.

Miller (19-7) made his way to the UFC via season five of The Ultimate Fighter. He spent the first few years of his tenure fighting at lightweight, amassing a 7-3 record in the Octagon.

He hasn’t fared much better, however, since dropping down to 145 pounds. Miller's featherweight record currently stands at 1-2, but he is coming off of a victory over Bart Palaszewski at the TUF 17 Finale in April.

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Chael Sonnen headlines the UFC on Fox Sports 1 #1 event on Aug. 17 in Boston, which also serves as part of the launch programming for Fox’s all-new nationwide sports network.
