Magic's Jones has torn meniscus in knee

Orlando Magic forward/center Solomon Jones has a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee, the team announced Friday.

Jones will have surgery and is out indefinitely. He was injured during Wednesday night's overtime loss at the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Jones, who signed as a free agent on Sep. 27, is averaging 2.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 13.7 minutes in two games. He averaged 4.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.29 steals and 16.0 minutes over seven preseason games.

The second-round draft pick of the Atlanta Hawks in 2006 has averaged 3.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 11.1 minutes in 272 career games with the Hawks, Indiana Pacers, New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and Magic.
