Lions sign safety Chris Hope

The Detroit Lions have signed safety Chris Hope to a contract and released receiver Brian Robiskie with the designation of non-football injury in his termination.

Hope, who is familiar with Lions head coach Jim Schwartz from their time together with the Tennessee Titans, spent last season with the Atlanta Falcons. Hope began his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Lions have been looking for safety and secondary help for a good part of the off-season. Hope should be able to provide a veteran presence who is readily familiar with the system in Detroit and also is a stand-up leader-type in the locker room.
