Lawsuit by Broncos' Williams is dismissed

A U.S. District Court judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams against the NFL, which means he is likely to serve his six-game suspension to start the 2012 season, the Denver Post reported Thursday.

Williams sued the league after he was found in violation of the NFL's performance enhancing drugs policy. Williams claimed protocol errors were made that led to a wrongful finding.

His suit was dismissed by Judge Christine Arguello. Williams' attorney, Peter Ginsberg, plans to appeal the ruling, the Post reported.

Williams also is facing trial in August on a charge of driving under the influence.
