Kelly Olynyk scores 30 as Celtics beat 76ers

Kelly Olynyk came off the bench and put up 30 points and notched nine rebounds to help the Boston Celtics defeat the Philadelphia 76ers, 105-87. Boston (8-14) picked up the win after falling to the New York Knicks on Friday.

Olynyk shot 12-17 (3-5 from three-point range) in a good performance. Other top performers for Boston were Brandon Bass with 14 points and five rebounds, and Evan Turner with 12 points and six assists. On 9-12 shooting, Nerlens Noel put up 19 points for Philadelphia in the loss. Robert Covington chipped in 13 points and six rebounds and Michael Carter-Williams finished with 13 points and six assists.

The 76ers posted an eFG% of just 37.6%, including 14.3% from 3-point range. This year, they are 1-7 when they record marks below 45% and 30% in those respective categories. On the other hand, the Celtics are 2-2 when holding their opponents to such low percentages.

Philadelphia (2-22) has now dropped their last four straight contests.

Coming up, the Celtics play the Orlando Magic, who are 10-17 on the season. The 76ers meet the Charlotte Bobcats, currently sitting at 6-18 this year.
