Jimbo Fisher: Jameis Winston will return as Florida State QB on Monday
After sitting out Florida State's 23-17 overtime win against Clemson, Jameis Winston will return as Florida State's starting quarterback on Monday, Jimbo Fisher told reporters after the game.
Winston was withheld from competition by the university after initially only receiving a half-game penalty for a vulgar outburst in the FSU student union on Tuesday.
Fisher went on to acknowledge that the incident, and the punishment process that has followed, created a distraction that impacted the Seminoles. Sean Maguire threw two interceptions and dealt with an aggressive pass rush all day, but he did total 305 yards passing and connected with Rashad Greene nine times for 135 yards, including the 74-yard game-tying touchdown.
