Jeff Bzdelik to join Grizzlies coaching staff

Former Denver Nuggets head coach Jeff Bzdelik is expected to sign a contract this week to become an assistant coach with the Memphis Grizzlies, a source told Yahoo Sports.

Bzdelik has 17 years of NBA experience as a head coach, assistant coach, personnel scout and advance scout with the Nuggets, Miami Heat, New York Knicks and Washington Bullets. He had a 60-104 record as head coach of the Nuggets from 2002-05, including a 43-win season in 2003-04 in which he coached a playoff team led by then-rookie Carmelo Anthony. The defensive-minded Bzdelik has also been a head coach at Air Force (2005-07), Colorado (2007-10) and Wake Forest (2010-14).

ESPN.com first reported that Bzdelik was in advanced negotiations with the Grizzlies.
