Islanders assistant coach suspended two games

New York Islanders assistant coach Brent Thompson has been suspended for two games by the league after being assessed a Game Misconduct for inappropriate and abusive comments he directed at the on-ice officials following Thursday's game against the New York Rangers.

Thompson will miss the Islanders' next two games - Saturday against Washington and Sunday at Pittsburgh.
