Henrik Stenson's 2-year-old daughter runs on-course to dad mid-round

Sometimes, you just need a hug from your dad. And, in the case of Henrik Stenson’s 2-year-old daughter, that was during the second round of the Valspar Championship on Friday.

Stenson’s family drove over to the Tampa-area Innisbrook Resort from Orlando on Friday to watch him play in the second round, and when they got there, Stenson’s daughter ducked under the ropes and ran toward her father as he strolled down the second fairway on the Copperhead Course. Like any good dad would do, Stenson scooped up his daughter, gave her a hug and brought her back to the rope line to be reunited with his wife and their other two children.

“Not the first time,” he said, smiling. “She likes to be inside the ropes, like you guys.”

Stenson shot even-par 71 on Friday that leaves him three out of the lead of Canadian Adam Hadwin heading into the weekend.

“I can’t complain with too much,” he said. “Ball-striking, yeah, I’m not quite where I want to be, but we’ve got time to work on that.”
