Hamlins re-ups with Gibbs Racing

Denny Hamlin signed a contract extension with Joe Gibbs Racing, Fox Sports reported Saturday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hamlin has been with JGR since 2004. A year later, he moved up to the Sprint Cup Series full-time and qualified for the Chase for the Sprint Cup six straight years.

"We pride ourselves on long-term deals" Gibbs said. "Denny's done a great job for us and he's done a great job for FedEx."

Hamlin entered the weekend eighth in the points standings.

Hamlin has 19 wins, 73 top-fives and 119 top-10 finishes in 239 career Sprint Cup starts.

Gibbs would not comment on rumors of Matt Kenseth joining JGR. Gibbs said the team is focused on re-signing Joey Logano.
