Giants unable to keep Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson off the field Week 1
The Giants had a hard time keeping Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson off the field on Monday night.
Stafford carved New York's secondary for 346 yards and two touchdowns through the air, both of which went to Johnson. Stafford also rushed for one score. The Giants were unable to force any turnovers and permitted a whopping 417 yards of total offense in a 35-14 defeat to the Lions. Robert Ayers was the only bright spot, recording the team's only sack in the third quarter.
New York will host the Cardinals in Week 2.
