Several scouts from NFL teams made their way to the campus of West Point for Friday’s Pro-Day on the campus of West Point.

Scouts representing the New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs and San Fransisco 49er’s were on hand to get a glance at four Army Black Knight seniors:

- Linebacker, Andrew King

- Safety, Xavier Moss

- Defensive Lineman, Eddy Ruzga

- Wide Receiver, Edgar Poe

One of the most athletic participates of the quartet is safety Xavier Moss, who is hoping to use this opportunity to showcase his talents to allow the gathering scouts to see what he can do.

“I feel like I did good,” Moss told GoBlackKnights.com at the conclusion of today’s session. I feel like I put up the numbers that I was expecting. I did good on the position drills ... it was the type of day that I was expecting to come out and do and I don’t feel like I let myself down.”

Although measuring in at 6-foot-2, the senior from Houston, Texas was able to show off his athleticism this afternoon.

“I think I did best on the 5-10-5,” said Moss as he referred to the Pro Agility component of the Performance Testing. “I’m not 100% sure what my forty time was, but I felt really good getting out of my breaks and all the agilities like that. I think through all my training, it definitely showed when I got out there.”

According to Moss, he was please with the feedback that he received from one of teams on hand.

“I talked to the scout from the Atlanta Falcons and he told me that I would be a good fit at corner,” stated Moss. “He said that he would get back to their corner’s coach and then let me know what they think. He felt that I would be a better fit at corner with the length and schemes that they run.”

“Xavier really performed well,” stated Army defensive coordinator, Jay Bateman. “I think he really opened some eyes. Andrew did exactly what I thought he would. Certify himself as a real professional. Tested great and handled everything.”

As we go down the list of participants, perhaps the one player who is truly a long shot to go the next step in the process is defensive lineman, Eddy Ruzga.

While middle linebacker Andrew King is the most likely Army West Point player in this years’ graduating class to see an NFL, there’s the hopefulness of the defensive tackle.

Long-shot does not necessarily mean no chance at all, and that’s all Ruzga was looking for .... despite having a few early Pro-Day jitters.

It was something different, pretty exciting, but a little nervous at first ... then I got into it pretty well.

I hadn’t practice too much on all the drills, but I think I excelled in the L-Drill a little better than first expected. I did fairly well in the bench press (225 pounds), and I had 24.

Ruzga was slightly under his normal 246 weight, where he dipped the scales today at 240 pounds.

“Right now, I am just still waiting to see if anybody says anything ... I just want to get my name out there and see if I have any takers,” he stated.

NOTABLES: The majority of the Army coaching staff, including head coach Jeff Monken were in attendance, but only as spectators.

As of this report, we are unsure why senior linebacker Jeremy Timpf did not participate in today’s Pro-Day.
