“We are incredibly saddened to learn of the death of former Vanderbilt student-athlete Connor Morrison. We send our deepest sympathies and prayers to Connor’s family in Oklahoma, his many friends and relatives, and all of his Vanderbilt teammates,” the school said in a statement released on Twitter.

“He was a wonderful teammate – in the locker room, in meeting rooms with his fellow Commodore specialists and on gamedays. Connor was a stellar student-athlete.”

Morrison graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt in 2014 and was a currently pursuing a degree in medical studies at the University of Oklahoma’s College of Medicine.

Morrison never appeared in a game during his time with the program. According to his bio on Vanderbilt’s website, he moved up to second-string on the depth chart at long snapper in 2013. He was also an SEC Academic Honor Roll selection in 2013.
