Eye on Basketball Podcast: Let's talk about extensions

Matt Moore joins me on the podcast today to talk contract extensions. This is all related to Golden State Warriors' shooting guard Klay Thompson moving toward the contract extension deadline of October 31 for the 2011 rookie class. Bill Duffy, Thompson's agent, called his client the best two-way, two-guard in the league and with the refusal to trade him for Kevin Love this summer, you're almost locked into a max deal with him. So what should the Warriors do? Do you take away the possible season of questions about it or do you do what the Suns did with Eric Bledsoe and make him set a market value every other team believes will be matched?

There are other players from the 2011 rookie class with big extension questions. How should the Orlando Magic handle the upcoming free agency of double-double machine Nikola Vucevic? Does Brandon Knight have sneaky value on the restricted market? Do the Chicago Bulls have reason to be believe in Jimmy Butler as a capable offensive weapon to match his defense? What do the Minnesota Timberwolves do with Ricky Rubio? What do the San Antonio Spurs do with Kawhi Leonard? What is Reggie Jackson's market value compared to Kemba Walker?

We discuss all of this, plus renting movies, figuring out which agents will succeed, and give our overdue review of the movie Godzilla.
