Because there’s absolutely no other hockey news out there on this Monday, this is a post to tell you that Dalton Prout of the New Jersey Devils has been suspended two games for this hit on Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas Saturday.

This is a no-doubter, especially since Prout falls under repeat offender status after being suspended one game in March 2016 for punching Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

He’s clearly retaliating for the hit Gudas laid on Devils rookie John Quenneville earlier in the shift. Just look at the photo above. The puck is New Jersey’s zone, Gudas has his head down skating toward the bench for a change, and Prout is coming on and more concerned with retribution than the location of the puck.

For the suspension, Prout loses out on $38,414.64 and will be eligible to return for Sunday’s season finale at Detroit.
