As always, you are advised to check the game-time MLB forecasts before finalizing lineups. Let’s review the Monday slate…

P Trevor Bauer, Cle, $34 (at Atl) – A curious price for a scorching-hot pitcher with a very low degree-of-difficulty matchup. Bauer has posted a 1.86 ERA in June with 38 Ks in 38.2 innings. He can handle the Braves, I’m fairly sure.

P Jake Arrieta, CHC, $59 (at Cin) – Arrieta has lost the strike zone occasionally over his last two starts, hitting a mild rough patch. But the man has still struck out 40 batters over his last 30 frames.

C Nick Hundley, Col, $16 (M. Estrada) – Hundley at home,

at a modest price? I’m in. We’ve been over this Hundley-at-Coors territory before.

1B Tommy Joseph, Phi, $9 (R. Ray) – Joseph is relatively hot lately (6 for his last 19), he’s got plenty of pop (8 HR in 119 AB), and he’s facing a lefty with a 1.54 WHIP.

2B Cesar Hernandez, Phi, $12 (R. Ray) – Starting two Phillies seems like a stretch, doesn’t it? I hear you. But the prices work. Hernandez gets a small bump against left-handers — especially sketchy LHPs.

3B Josh Donaldson, Tor, $27 (J. Gray) – OK, this pick should require no explanation whatsoever. Donaldson has eight multi-hit games in his past 11, with three homers included.

SS Alcides Escobar, KC, $12 (A. Wainwright) – Escobar is 8-for-26 against Wainwright, for what it’s worth, and he has five multi-hit efforts in his last seven games.

OF Brett Gardner, NYY, $11 (C. Rodriguez) – Gardner has hit .360/.437/.413 in June, and he’s facing a low-K right-hander on Monday. Gonzalez has posted a not-so-impressive 5.04 ERA and 1.39 WHIP at Triple-A this season.

OF Yoenis Cespedes, NYM, $14 (J. Ross) – Excellent hitter at a reasonable price. Cespedes has hit .333 this month with a .919 OPS.

OF Alex Gordon, KC, $10 (A. Wainwright) – Gordon has hit safely in his first two games since returning from the DL, and he’s reached base nine times in 21 career plate appearances against Wainwright.
