Chris Cooley joins Redskins radio broadcasts
Chris Cooley has announced his retirement from the NFL and he’s going straight to the Washington Redskins radio booth.
It’s a natural fit for the team after Sam Huff retired following 38 seasons in the team’s radio booth.
According to the Washington Post, Cooley isn’t replacing Huff per se and he will be an “in-game contributor.” Cooley was very popular during his nine-year career with the club. He was cut during training camp last year but re-signed following an injury to starter Fred Davis.
“I’m pumped,” Cooley told Mark Maske of the Washington Post. “This is a great deal for me. I really want this job and I want to do it for a long time.
“I had other opportunities. I had other offers. This is the only job I wanted. The Redskins have been great to me and this is a perfect situation for me.”
