Chargers RB Mathews not arrested

San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews was not arrested in a bar fight in San Diego Sunday night, despite earlier reports.

CBS Sports reported Monday that police said Mathews was not arrested nor cited.

"I don't know how that got out there," the San Diego Police spokesman said. "There was an incident, an allegation of a fight. But Mr. Mathews was not contacted by police."

The false report stated that an intoxicated Mathews got into a fight and knocked out a male before getting arrested outside a nightclub.

Mathews reacted to the report via Twitter.

"Home healthy and happy!" he wrote. "Don't know how my name got in this but I'm good!"

Mathews ran for 707 yards with one touchdown in 12 games last year, averaging 3.8 yards per carry.
