Buccaneers Beaten by Browns, 22-17
The Tampa Bay defense had no answer for Mike Evans, but it would prove not enough to avoid a loss for the Buccaneers against the Browns, 22-17, in Cleveland.
Mike Glennon accounted for two touchdown on 17 of 33 passing for 260 yards and two picks. Brian Hoyer finished 21 for 34 with 300 yards passing, two touchdowns and two picks for the Browns.
Bobby Rainey was a bright spot for the Buccaneers, running for 87 yards on 19 carries in addition to one reception for 34 yards. Evans was a top performer, snagging seven balls for 124 yards with two touchdowns.
The Tampa Bay defense managed to contain the running game, but could not slow down the passing attack, giving up 50 yards rushing and 300 passing. They sacked Hoyer three times.
Browns wide receiver Taylor Gabriel racked up 87 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Buccaneers host the Falcons (2-6) next week while the Browns head to Cincinnati to face the Bengals (5-2).
