Browns sign third-round pick McFadden

The Cleveland Browns announced Friday that they signed third-round draft pick Leon McFadden to a four-year contract.

Financial terms were not released on the deal, which was announced on rookie reporting day Friday.

McFadden, a defensive back, is trying to become the starting cornerback opposite Joe Haden.

He started 45 of 51 career games at San Diego State.

McFadden's signing came hours after the Browns signed defensive lineman Armonty Bryant, a seventh-round pick.

It leaves first-rounder Barkevious Mingo, the No. 6 overall pick, as the Browns' only unsigned rookie.
