Browns place Massaquoi on IR, sign Lewis

The Cleveland Browns placed wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi on injured reserve and signed quarterback Thaddeus Lewis off their practice squad.

Massaquoi started five of the nine games he played in this season, finishing with 17 catches for 245 yards. The oft-injured Massaquoi has been battling a hamstring injury most of the season.

Lewis has a chance to be active for the regular-season finale with starter Brandon Weeden's status uncertain due to a shoulder injury. Colt McCoy would start in his place.

Lewis was originally signed by the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He was claimed by the Browns off waivers on Sept. 4, 2011.
