Baseball-Highlights of Thursday's MLB games

(Adds later games) April 17 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Thursdays Major League Baseball Games - - Yankees 10, Rays 2 Left-hander CC Sabathia produced his first solid performance of the season while Tampa Bay's David Price was hit hard as the New York Yankees hammered the Rays 10-2. Price, who set season worsts in innings (5), runs (6) and hits allowed (10), surrendered two home runs, two triples and two doubles. He has allowed just five extra-base hits in his three previous starts combined. Sabathia allowed one earned run on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts and was helped in the field by a triple play. Designated hitter Alfonso Soriano and catcher Brian McCann homered for New York. - - Phillies 1, Braves 0 The Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves combined for just nine hits through the first seven innings as the starting pitchers cruised and even when the Phillies got some offense, it was enough to secure a 1-0 victory. Center fielder Ben Revere then hit a drive up the middle to score Brown from second. Phillies right-hander AJ Burnett battled through a hernia to pitch seven innings, giving up three-hits and striking out five to lower his ERA to 2.74. A sacrifice fly by catcher Kurt Suzuki made it 5-0. Gibson allowed only one hit, an eighth-inning single that was erased by a double play, in his final three innings.
