2014 Outlook: Kawhi Leonard
Leave it to Greg Poppovich to make an eventual Finals MVP a boring, frustrating Fantasy option. Kawhi Leonard's potential was on full display while he dismantled Miami on basketball's biggest stage, but that Leonard wasn't the one we saw in Fantasy. Instead, we got a run-of-the-mill 12.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. His 1.7 steals a night and 52 percent shooting from the field gave him a significant bump up in Rotisserie leagues, and by the end of the year he was a top-notch categories player. He averaged 1.4 made threes per game and shot 86 percent from the free throw line over the last 25 games. He also barely ever turned the ball over and started blocking at least one shot per game over that span. The Leonard we saw down the stretch is worth a pick starting somewhere in the early rounds of Rotisserie drafts. But in points leagues, let him fall to you before the middle of the draft because of how limiting the Spurs system is for individual statistics.
