Denver has traded Steven Hunter(notes) and a lottery-protected 2010 first-round pick to Memphis for a future second rounder, a league source told Y! Sports on Friday.

Trading Hunter saves $3.67 million in salary and luxury tax off Denver’s books and clears a roster spot.
