About a week or so ago, I got Facebook message from my former teammate and current overseas baller Ayinde Ubaka. You may recognize him from the intro of "Boom Got Them DOS!" or maybe you recognize him as a former 1st team All-Pac-Ten guard, although I seriously suspect it is the former. Well, Ayinde is a big supporter of the movement, and, as such a supporter, felt compelled to drop some knowledge on me via Facebook. This is what he had to say:
Aye Benson, is there anything new going on with the boom movement? I know ... I'm bored as hell. I have nothing better to do but to participate in the Boom Movement. I have a word that I think you can use and it will for sure blow up ... that's if you already don't already use it. The word is "boomness." Not bitchassness, but boomness. I can't define it unless you want to use it. Just think about it, though. Boomness. I was talking about the boom stuff to one of my teammates and somehow boomness came out of my mouth. I don't know how or why, but it just did. I think it's a great word. As you can see I am bored as hell over the water.
What a phenomenal idea. I always knew that this kid was special, but now he has provided me with something great. It's about time people displayed their Boom-Tho-Ness. Either you have Mad-Boom-Tho-Ness or you have No-Boom-Tho-Ness. Ayinde is a genius.
So, to ensure that his efforts were not in vain, I'm gonna pick out certain NBA playoff storylines, highlights, and other ridiculous happenings and analyze them strictly on their level of Boom-Tho-Ness. They will be detailed in video format and I'm gonna try to do this at least once a week. We will call this NBA Playoff Boom-Tho-Ness. There should be plenty to go around. Cinco De Mayo is a perfect day to kick this off. Why? Because Cinco De Mayo has a high degree of Boom-Tho-Ness.
Rod Benson is a Cal grad who plays for the D-League's Dakota Wizards. He also blogs two or three times a week on Ball Don't Lie. Read his archive, pay a visit to TooMuchRodBenson.com and always support the Boom Tho movement.

Can you have Ayinde give us as all an update from his time with the Antwerp Diamond Dogs? I am a bay area resident, Oakland Tech Alumni, and proud Belgian immigrant...from Antwerp! I want to know how he is liking it living out there, and whether he is hitting up all the same clubs i go to when I go back to Belgium and visit the fam. All those Boom Tho from Belgium comments come from me, even though I am sending them from the TOWN!

Love the Blog. Keep it up.
However, forget the Vlog.
You are a literary genius, you crack me up on a regular basis. But what the heck, are you a frog are something?! What is with the tongue? Keep that thing in your mouth dude. I couldn't focus on any of your normally witty humor just waiting for that thing to come out again.
Peace
