2 former Tigers swap roster spots on Tampa Bay Rays

Former Detroit Tigers infielder Niko Goodrum was designated for assignment by the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday. The Rays also selected the contract of another lesser-known former Tiger, right-hander Edwin Uceta. Goodrum went just 3-for-16 for the Rays since his promotion in mid-April. Goodrum, 32, played regularly for the Tigers in a variety of roles from 2018-2021 hitting .232 with a .707 OPS (90 OPS+) in 376 games.
