Rafael Devers homers in fifth straight game as bats back Nick Pivetta, Red Sox avoid sweep in St. Louis

The Red Sox needed one of these breakout games, one in which a struggling offense came alive. It finally happened in a 11-3 win against the Cardinals Sunday afternoon at Busch Stadium, with which Boston avoided a sweep. The Red Sox tagged Matthew Liberatore for four runs on six hits in just three innings. Tyler O'Neill got them going right away, slugging his 11th home run of the season in the first inning.
