Why DeVonta Smith's extension puts the pressure on the Dolphins

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially locked up wide receiver DeVonta Smith with a three-year, $75 million contract with $51 million guaranteed. As a result, Smith becomes the first receiver of the 2021 draft class to receive an extension. Smith was drafted with the 10th overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, becoming the third pass catcher taken off the board behind LSU's Ja'Marr Chase and his college teammate, Jaylen Waddle. Smith was taken four picks after Waddle, his right-hand-man at Alabama.
