Spitfire CRASHES in a field during Battle of Britain event

A Spitfire has reportedly crashed in a field during a Battle of Britain event at RAF Coningsby. It is believed a rescue helicopter arrived at the scene after journeying from Humberside. Emergency services are said to have arrived following reports of a crash at the airfield, which occurred around 1.20pm. A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: 'Emergency services are in attendance following reports of an aircraft crashing in a field just before 1.20pm.
