10-men Red Bulls settle for goalless draw against Chicago Fire

The New York Red Bulls managed to salvage a point and remain atop the Eastern Conference with a 0-0 draw against the Chicago Fire despite losing Andres Reyes to a red card just before halftime and Peter Stroud to a severe-looking ankle injury. During the first minute of second-half stoppage time, substitute Elias Manoel's low, curling shot hit the right post. The rebound came right to Frankie Amaya on the outside of the right post and with the goalkeeper Chris Brady out of position and the goal open, the midfielder struck the opposite post from a difficult angle. “We had a lot of chances… but it was a great performance tactically,” Red Bulls head coach Sandro Schwarz said.
