Red Wings reassign Nate Danielson to Grand Rapids during playoff run

The Detroit Red Wings reassigned center Nate Danielson from the Western Hockey League's Portland Winterhawks to the Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday. The 6-foot-2 Danielson, a first-round draft pick by the Red Wings in 2023, completed his WHL season this week with 24 points (7 goals, 17 assists) in 18 postseason games. In the league final, Portland was swept 4-0 by the Moose Jaw Warriors, who will compete at the Memorial Cup in Saginaw from May 24-June 2.
