Why an Eagles rookie was recognized on the floor of the House of Representatives

Eagles first-round draft pick Quinyon Mitchell has not played a regular-season snap in the NFL, but he has already been recognized on the House of Representatives floor. During Monday evening's one-minute speech session on the House floor, Ohio representative Marcy Kaptur (D-9th District) recognized Mitchell for being selected by the Eagles. “Mr. Speaker, I rise to celebrate and recognize Quinyon Mitchell, a cornerback from the University of Toledo,” Kaptur said.
