Conor McGregor returns to childhood boxing club, competes against amateur opponent
Former UFC champion Conor McGregor made a visit to his old boxing gym Crumlin Boxing Club in Dublin on Friday and decided to compete against one of their amateurs boxers in front of a local crowd of supporters.
According to Irish-based publication SportsJoe.ie, McGregor engaged in a sparring session with fellow boxers Willo Hayden and Michael McGrane. After training, McGregor and McGrane shared the ring in a friendly contest.
News of the 30-year-old’s appearance was not publicized, with McGrane’s opponent being identified as “A. Another” ahead of the exhibition meeting. Dressed in a red sleeveless shirt and matching shorts, “The Notorious” treated fans to his signature strut before engaging in a couple rounds with his opponent.

The crowd appeared just as excited to see the father of two take the ring in his hometown.

McGrane wasn’t intimidated by his much experienced competitor, showing off a bit of his own skill in front of the lively audience.

MMA Fighting notes both men had their hands raised at the end of the showcase, indicating a draw. McGregor was all smiles as he posed for photos following the contest.

This marks McGregor’s first boxing match since his 2017 bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in Las Vegas.
