Johnny Cueto tries to break bat over his knee, fails miserably

Johnny Cueto should stick to pitching. The Cincinnati Reds starter attempted — and failed — to break a bat over his knee after striking out looking in the fourth inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday night. The move looked painful.

And his tough luck continued on the mound. The 28-year-old gave up only two runs on seven hits but issued four walks over six innings in a no-decision. HIs 1.92 ERA is the second-best in all of baseball but Cueto only has a 6-5 record in 15 starts to show for it.  Cueto told C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer after the eventual 6-5 Reds victory he never felt comfortable. "Yes, I battled a lot. I didn't even think I was going to be able to throw one inning," said the right-hander according to interpreter Tomas Vera. "I didn't feel good at all." And that little situation with the lumber couldn't have helped.

Beast Mode present

Moving to NFL news, Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch showed up to a mandatory minicamp — but didn't practice due to an ankle injury.

Beautiful draw

Finally in World Cup play, Mexico earned a point against host nation Brazil thanks to a scoreless tie that saw a number of incredible saves by El Tri's goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.
